Nidhhi Agerwal
Nidhhi Agerwal faced a scary situation last month after she was mobbed at a promotional event for her latest film, The Raja Saab, at a mall in Hyderabad. Several videos of the actress getting uncomfortable surfaced online, attracting a lot of criticism towards the security arrangements. Nidhhi has now finally addressed the incident, adding that she wants to talk about it later on.
The incident took place at Lulu Mall in Hyderabad during a song launch event of the Prabhas-starrer, The Raja Saab. Clips circulated online from the event showed the actor trying to make her way to her car through a packed and unruly crowd. In the clip, the actress appeared visibly uncomfortable as a large number of men surrounded her. The videos also showed that some members of the crowd even tried touch her despite security personnel trying to clear a path.
The footage triggered widespread criticism from within the film industry. Many questioned the lack of adequate security arrangements and expressed support for the actor.
Consequently, a case was registered in Hyderabad against the management of Lulu Mall as well as the event organisers. Police officials told PTI that a case was registered against the management of the mall and organisers for hosting the event without prior permission.
"A celebrity was invited, and the event was organised without obtaining permission. Hence, a case has been registered," an official at the KPHB police station told the news agency.
Now Nidhhi has finally addressed the incident after about a month. Nidhhi told PTI, "Well, it was an unfortunate incident that took place that day." She further added that while she has a lot to say about what happened, she thinks it is important to speak at the right moment. "I have so much to say about that incident, but I feel like I want to speak at the right time because it's a very sensitive topic, and anything I say can be taken out of context by people who are reading stuff and all of that. So I will talk about it, but in some time," she added.
Nidhhi is currently seen in The RajaSaab, a horror comedy headlined by Prabhas. Directed by Maruthi, the film hit the screens on January 9, 2025. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Malavika Mohanan, Riddhi Kumar, Boman Irani and Zarina Wahab in pivotal roles.
