Days after the Chunnari Chunnari remake, Bollywood has treated audiences with one more remake. The makers of the upcoming film Welcome To The Jungle have recreated the song Uncha Lamba Kad which was part of the first Welcome movie. While the first film had seen the song picturised on Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar, only the latter has returned for the recreation.
Featuring Akshay Kumar and Disha Patani, the song revives the spirit of the iconic chartbuster while giving it a vibrant, modern makeover. The original track was composed by Anand Raj Anand and has been recreated by Vikram Montrose who has added fresh energy to the song but kept the essence that made it a fan favourite.
The recreated version is sung by Anand Raj Anand and Rubai with fresh lyrics by Meggha Bali along with the original lyrics by Sameer. With its infectious hook, high-energy visuals and celebratory vibe, Ucha Lamba Kad Forever is all set to tap into both nostalgia and contemporary pop culture.
There has been mixed response to the song. While fans of the superstar have lauded the song, many others also missed the charm that Katrina brought with the song.
A person wrote under the video on YouTube, "Disha can't replace our pretty beautiful katrina Kaif".
"OG Hits Different Katrina," wrote another person in the YouTube comment section.
"No one can replace Katrina Kaif," echoed another person.
Another person wrote, "If destroying the original compositions is an art, entire bollywood is an artist. Terrible."
But many also complimented on the song on X, especially the visuals and the chemistry between the two lead actors.
Talking about the high energy and how charismatic Akshay Kumar is looking in the iconic track, director Ahmed Khan said," Akshay has immense experience in songs, when I have been working with him since 33 years, he has got the body and the fitness which fills up the frame for any choreographer or a director and the line of work which he has labeled with is incredible to match up with. But what surprises me the most is that today, the same song Uncha Lamba Kad, which he has again shot after 19 years, I think he has taken it three notches higher in energy, and he looks absolutely charismatic, dashing, and handsome. I always love to shoot him on of my cameras."
He further added," Disha pulls off any look you give her. The body, the face, the skin, and the style, she knows how to carry it all. She is the best at present to do a powerful dance number, and they both pull the song off so well. Disha is one of my favourites, that's why she's in mostly all my films."
