Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar had created history in 2025 and 2026 with his films like Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The actor impressed the audience with his top-notch performances in the film and also took the box office by storm with back-to-back record-breaking blockbusters. His powerful performance gained a lot of acclaim from crtics and fans alike.
Now, Deepika Padukone's father and the badminton legend, Prakash Padukone, has opened up about his son-in-law's film. He also reviewed Dhurandhar, calling it a "great movie."
While speaking to the Indian Express, Prakash Padukone spoke about Dhurandhar and praised the film's craftsmanship and widespread audience appeal. The badminton legend also noted that it resonated deeply with viewers, even though it had a little bit too much violence. He shared, "It's a great film. It's a very well-made film with good acting by everybody. We felt there was a little bit too much violence, but the majority of people liked it, so I think that's more important."
Helmed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar 2, released in March this year, stars Sara Arjun, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, Danish Pandor, and R Madhavan in key roles, alongside Ranveer Singh.
The badminton icon also opened up about the close bond that the two families share, adding that they often spend quality time together, including family vacations. Reflecting on his relationship with Ranveer, Prakash Padukone added that they often talk about each other's fields of expertise.
He shared that he often turns to the actor to better understand the intricacies of the film industry, while Ranveer is equally curious about the world of sports, regularly seeking his insights. He said, "There are a lot of common interests, as he's very interested in sports. He keeps talking to me about sports, and I keep asking him about movies as I want to learn about the business. We don't get so much time, as they are all busy, but whatever time we get, we like to sit together and enjoy, whether it's football or cricket. He is an Arsenal fan, and our daughter Anisha is a Manchester United fan, so there are these common interests."
