Kangana Ranaut buries feud with Baba Ramdev after days of controversial remarks on Raksha Bandhan, calls him 'bada bhai'

Following days of public war of words, Baba Ramdev and actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut have now buried the hatchet on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. The Yoga guru appealed for reconciliation, which the actress accepted. Baba Ramdev said he would send a Rakhi, sweets and a gift to Kangana, calling her his "sister". Soon, Kangana replied with a positive note on Instagram. On the festival, Kangana also celebrated Rakhi with her brother and shared glimpses on social media.

Baba Ramdev seeks reconciliation

On Friday, August 27, Baba Ramdev, while addressing the media, urged people to put an end to hatred and hostility in society. He said, "There should not be any hatred in the country for any reason and there should not be any animosity toward each other." He further added that disputes should be resolved through talks, saying even he has decided to put his and Kangana's differences aside.

Ramdev also passed on a message for social harmony and called for an end to discrimination based on caste or community, saying the festival of Raksha Bandhan represents love and mutual protection. He also suggested political parties to symbolically exchange rakhis to send a message of unity.

Kangana ends feud with Baba Ramdev

Kangana Ranaut, via an Instagram Story, lauded Ramdev's message, agreeing with his view that dialogue was better than confrontation. The actress who has been in the news over her remarks about Kriti Sanon's ad, reposted Ramdev's video on her social media handle and penned a note where she said that she accepted both the sweets and the affection from her "elder brother" Baba Ramdev.

Kangana's post read: "Tyohar ka din hota he sab bhool chook maaf karne keliye hai, mere Bhai Baba Ram Dev ji ne bahut achcha kaha ki vivaad nahi samvaad hona chahiye. Aaj Rakshabandhan ke din main unki mithai our bade bhai ka prem dono swikaar karti hoon. Bahut dhanyawad ishwar aapko lambi aayu de (A festival is meant to forgive and forget. My brother Baba Ramdev is correct in saying that a conversation is necessary. On Raksha Bandhan today, I accept his sweets and love with all my love. Thank you so much. May God bless you with a long life.)"

The conflict between the two erupted after Kangana Ranaut made the controversial "Generation Gutter" remark about student protesters. Her statement drew widespread criticism from various sections, including Baba Ramdev, who also publicly objected to Kangana's remarks, leading to a direct exchange between the two.
