Director-producer Ram Gopal Varma dropped a post on social media on Sunday, surprising his fans. The filmmaker teased a high-profile collaboration with director Mohit Suri of Saiyaara fame. Sharing a picture on social media, Varma revealed their joint venture without spilling many details of the collaboration. Notably, the announcement comes as Suri is preparing for his next directorial project after the record-breaking box office run of his 2025 hit Saiyaara.
Hinting at thier collaboration, Varma teased a genre mashup in his signature style. He teased that the upcoming project will blend his classic crime elements with Suri's signature romantic storytelling.
Varma posted a selfie with Suri on his X handle on Sunday, September 13, 2026 and wrote, "Me and #Saiyaaraâs mohit11481 for his NEXT film, are COOKING together a LOVE DISH full of GANGSTER CURRY .. Details to be SERVED VERY VERY SOON (fire emojis) (sic)." In the picture, the duo is seen smiling while posing together.
On the workfront, alongside the new venture with Varma, Suri recently announced his reunion with Yash Raj Films, Ahaan Panday, and Aneet Padda for an untitled romantic drama. The film marks the filmmaker's second film with the two actors and is slated to go on floors later this year. The trio is eyeing for a 2027 theatrical release following the massive box office run of Saiyaara.
Meanwhile, Ram Gopal Varma has also confirmed his next directorial venture after a long time. He will be directing a horror film titled Police Station Mein Bhoot, featuring actor Manoj Bajpayee. The project is reportedly set to feature an ensemble cast, with Genelia D'Souza, Ramya Krishnan, and Rajpal Yadav, who are rumoured to be joining the line-up. Simultaneously, Varma is also working on Police Company, a parallel project featuring Harshvardhan Rane, Fardeen Khan, and Paresh Rawal.
That's not all, Varma is expanding his upcoming slate with Syndicate. He announced the film, which is believed to have been conceived in the wake of the massive box office success of Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar: The Revenge.
