Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding Ranveer Singh's abrupt exit from Don 3, a new report now claims that the actor allegedly reached out to Farhan Akhtar to fix their relationship. The actor offered to do another film with the banner, but the makers seemed uninterested.
As reported by ABP News, Ranveer Singh reached out to Farhan Akhtar and expressed his willingness to collaborate on a future project. However, neither the filmmaker nor his sister Zoya Akhtar seemed to be interested in working with the actor right now.
Sources reportedly told the portal, "Ranveer offered to do another film, selected mutually by Farhan and Ranveer. Ranveer also offered to do a film with Farhan's sister Zoya Akhtar, with whom he has done Gully Boy in the past." The source further added, "The offer was made to both Farhan and his production partner Ritesh Sidhwani but was turned down immediately."
There is no confirmation that any such discussions really took place. Notably, the development comes a day after a report claimed that Ranveer Singh offered a discount of Rs 25 crore to Farhan Akhtar on future projects.
The issue between Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar over Don 3 has turned out to be one of Bollywood's biggest controversies. According to multiple reports online, Farhan Akhtar claimed that Singh abruptly exited the film due to creative differences with the makers. Multiple reports suggested that the Dhurandhar actor was unhappy over the repeated delays in production and the absence of a final script.
Initially, it appeared to be a routine casting change, but it soon escalated into a legal matter. Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment reportedly demanded Rs 45 crore in compensation from the actor. Meanwhile, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a non-cooperation directive against the actor following Farhan Akhtar's cooperation.
Following the ban, Singh's spokesperson issued a statement, stating that the actor does not wish to add to the speculation and believes such professional disagreements should be handled privately. "Throughout the recent developments surrounding Don 3, he has consciously chosen to maintain silence, believing that professional discussions and personal equations are best handled with dignity, maturity and mutual respect," the statement read.
