Marvel Studios has a Diwali surprise for Indian fans, with Avengers: Doomsday set to arrive in cinemas across the country a day before its US release. The superhero spectacle will hit Indian theatres on December 17, 2026, in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
Adding to the festive excitement, Hollywood stars Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans have shared a special Diwali message for Indian audiences. Downey Jr., who plays Doctor Doom, and Evans, who returns as Steve Rogers, greeted fans in an video released by Marvel India, building anticipation for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film.
In the video, the actors said, "Namaste India! What we love about Diwali is it marks the closing of one chapter and beginning of anotherâ¦that's something we know a lot about, except instead of moving from dark to light, I think it might be going in the other directionâ¦Happy Diwali, and we will see you in Avengers: Doomsday â¦You Bet!"
The announcement comes with just 50 days to go before the film's release, giving Indian fans another reason to look forward to the festive season. With the film arriving ahead of its US debut, audiences in India will get an early chance to witness the much-anticipated superhero showdown.
The film will feature Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, marking his return to the Marvel universe after playing Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, across several MCU films. Evans, meanwhile, is back as Steve Rogers, the character he portrayed in multiple instalments of the Captain America and Avengers franchises.
Alongside Downey Jr. and Evans, the film features Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Wyatt Russell, Channing Tatum, Simu Liu, Ian McKellen, Hayley Atwell, Tom Hiddleston and Sebastian Stan.
The ensemble also includes James Marsden, Patrick Stewart, Joseph Quinn, David Harbour, Letitia Wright, Lewis Pullman, Kelsey Grammer, Kathryn Newton, Danny Ramirez, Winston Duke, Alan Cumming, Hannah John-Kamen, Rebecca Romijn, Alex Livinalli, Mabel Cadena and Tenoch Huerta Mejia.
Avengers: Doomsday releases in Indian theatres on December 17, 2026, in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The film will also be available in Marvel Studios' Infinity Vision and other premium formats.
