Kourtney Kardashian Barker and Travis Barker are opening up about one of the most difficult chapters in their relationship. The couple has revealed that they suffered a miscarriage early in their journey together, years before they welcomed their son, Rocky Thirteen Barker, in 2023.
The emotional revelation is featured in Travis Barker's upcoming documentary Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear, which recently premiered in New York. According to People magazine, the documentary revisits the couple's fertility journey and the heartbreak they experienced after learning they had lost a baby.
The documentary reveals that Kardashian and Barker discovered they were expecting a baby girl around six months after they began dating in 2021. The couple had even chosen the name Tulip for their daughter.
However, during a routine three-month pregnancy check-up, they were told that the baby no longer had a heartbeat. Reflecting on the devastating loss, Kardashian says in the documentary, "When we lost the baby, we were devastated."
"We cried for days," she adds, recalling the emotional toll the miscarriage took on both of them.
The revelation comes after Kardashian previously discussed her struggles with fertility treatments and IVF. In a May 2024 Instagram QandA, the reality star revealed that she stopped IVF after a year of trying, which included five unsuccessful IVF cycles and three retrievals.
"I stopped after a year of trying... my body relaxed, and I believed in God's plan for my life," she shared at the time.
Kardashian later clarified that her pregnancy with Rocky was conceived naturally after she ended IVF treatments. Addressing confusion online, she wrote, "I got pregnant 100% naturally, NOT through IVF... one year after stopping IVF actually. Through God's blessing on Valentine's Day."
The couple's fertility journey was also documented on The Kardashians, where Kourtney revealed that she and Barker had stopped actively trying to conceive and decided to leave things to fate.
"We decided to put it in God's hands and thought it was just not happening. We were accepting of it and then... God's plan," she said.
Kardashian described Rocky's arrival as nothing short of a miracle, saying it "truly feels like a miracle being able to be pregnant and have a baby with the love of my life."
The couple eventually welcomed Rocky Thirteen Barker in 2023. Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear is scheduled to premiere on Hulu on August 13.
