Sydney Sweeney has been in the news recently for her new naked sports ad, but the actor has an interesting lineup ahead. Her upcoming projects are getting more exciting, with Sweeney set to headline Hollow, a reimagining of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Now, Off Campus star Belmont Cameli is joining her as Brom Bones.
Deadline reported that Belmont Cameli is set to join Sydney Sweeney in the studio's adaptation of Hollow, the project based on filmmaker Lindsey Anderson Beer's forthcoming debut novel. Belmont Cameli has been cast in the role of Brom Bones, who is the famed antagonist and rival love interest competing for Katrina's affection. While Sweeney will step into the role of Katrina Van Tassel, the role of Ichabod Crane has apparently not yet been cast.
The novel is a reimagining of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, told through the perspective of Katrina Van Tassel, played by Sweeney. The story blends gothic atmosphere, psychological intrigue and erotic thriller elements into a contemporary, high-concept reinvention of the classic tale. Beer's novel and movie see Van Tassel take centre stage in both a dangerous mystery and a seductive supernatural triangle.
Her latest work includes The Housemaid by Paul Feig. It is based on the 2022 novel by Freida McFadden and stars Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried. In the film, Millie Calloway, a young woman with a troubled past, becomes the live-in maid for a wealthy family whose household hides dark secrets. A sequel is in development, with Feig and Sweeney set to return and scheduled for release on December 17, 2027. To note, Off Campus star Stephen Kalyn will be playing her boyfriend. This marks her second collaboration with an actor from a popular series.
She will next be seen in The Custom of the Country, an upcoming tragicomedy film written and directed by Josie Rourke, based on the 1913 novel by Edith Wharton. The film is about an ambitious woman who moves from the Midwest to New York City, looking to climb the city's social ladder. She is also set to produce and star in a Gundam adaptation, which is currently in development.
Cameli is coming off his breakout role in the hit Prime Video series Off Campus. He was also recently seen in Until Dawn and The Alto Knights. He will return in the second season of Off Campus. It was also revealed that Cameli and his co-star Ella Bright will be the central couple of the second season.
