Usher's signature steamy onstage fan interaction took an unexpected turn during the Nashville stop of his co-headlining R&B Tour with Chris Brown. The singer appeared to end the segment after noticing a woman onstage looked visibly uncomfortable, with the moment quickly going viral.

Usher stops steamy performance as fan gets uncomfortable

During the Nashville stop of his co-headlining R&B Tour with Chris Brown, Usher invited a woman from the audience onstage for one of the seductive performance segments that have become a signature part of his live shows. The woman was seated on a bed while the Grammy-winning singer, performing shirtless, serenaded her. However, as Usher moved closer and attempted to touch her face and chin during the act, she appeared visibly uncomfortable, sitting stiffly and showing little enthusiasm throughout the interaction.

Usher eventually seemed to notice the disconnect. He slowly moved away before telling the audience, "I don't think she wants to be on stage." The "Yeah!" hitmaker then removed his earpieces and gestured, appearing to signal that the woman should leave the stage.

Usher and Brown are currently traveling across North America for their joint stadium tour. Usher's intimate fan interactions have long been a highly anticipated element of his concerts.

The moment quickly sparked reactions online, with viewers sharing their thoughts on social media. "Why didn't you just say no, thank you?" one person wrote on her Instagram. Another commented, "It's a show. She wasted people's time and energy."

"My question is, why go up there? Even if you had a man, this isn't a flex. You shouldn't have wasted your own time and someone else's. She knew she could go viral and get chosen. She's just not trying to get chosen by Usher," one person wrote on Instagram.

Another agreed, writing, "Good for her, but at the same time, why go on stage in the first place?" while someone else joked, "She wanted Chris Brown, not Usher."

Usher on his shows

Usher previously explained that his shows are designed to give women an experience they can enjoy with friends and remember long after the concert ends. The singer told GQ in 2023 that many fans save money, arrange child care, and travel specifically to escape their everyday responsibilities for a weekend centered on fun.
