Pan-India superstar Dhanush couldn't contain his excitement after watching the sci-fi movie Predator: Badlands. He took to his social media account to share praises and appreciation for the movie.
The Velaiilla Pattadhari actor took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle to share his reaction.
Posting his short review, Dhanush wrote: "PREDATOR - badlands. WOW .. JUST WOW. A MARVEL .. A great tribute to OG predator fans."
The sentiment was echoed by several of his fans, who commented, "Couldn't agree more ... Absolute beast of a tribute!" and "Totally with you" and "Yes, absolutely worth it" under his tweet.
Predator: Badlands is the seventh installment in the Predator franchise and the third Predator film to be directed by Dan Trachtenberg. This new installment takes a different turn from the usual storyline. This time, a Predator and a human are not enemies - they are allies.
Set in the future on a lethal, remote planet, Predator: Badlands centers on Dek, a young Predator exiled by his own clan, who forms an improbable, volatile pact with the android Thia for the deadliest quest imaginable: to find and kill the ultimate adversary - the Kalisk. It stars Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi and Elle Fanning in lead roles.
The film has largely been praised by both fans and critics, who have appreciated Trachtenberg's fresh take on the universe and attempt to reinvent the franchise. However, some die-hard fans have been disappointed by the film's comedic tone and its departure from its violent, gory roots.
On the professional front, the Idli Kadai actor has a string of releases lined up.
Dhanush will be seen in the spiritual sequel to Raanjhanaa, titled Tere Ishk Mein, alongside Kriti Sanon. The two play lovers - Shankar and Mukti. The film will be an intense, passionate love story of loss, longing, and unspoken pain between the two characters.
A.R. Rahman, along with Arijit Singh and Irshad Kamil, have joined hands for the soulful title track, which has generated a lot of buzz online. The track blends Rahman's soul-stirring composition, Singh's unmistakable voice, and Kamil's signature poetry, a combination once again destined to dominate playlists.
The film is directed by Aanand L Rai and written by Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav. It is scheduled to hit the theatres worldwide on November 28 in Hindi and Tamil.
He will also be seen in the biopic of legendary music composer Ilaiyaraaja, produced by AGS Entertainment in collaboration with Connekkt Media. There were reports that the film was shelved earlier; however, it is still in pre-production.
