There is much excitement and buzz around Sandeep Reddy Vanga's next film starring Prabhas and Triptii Dimri in the lead. If the latest reports are to be believed, the makers have roped in an international superstar for the role of the antagonist. As per reports in Korean media, South Korean actor Don Lee (also known as Ma Dong-seok) is all set to make his debut in Indian cinema with Spirit.
Muko, a Korean drama and entertainment community, confirmed the news on X (formerly Twitter). A translation of their Korean post read, "This film, titled Spirit, is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and stars Prabhas, famous for Baahubali, in a dark-toned detective crime drama. It is known that Ma Dong-seok's role in this film is a character who stands in opposition to the one played by Prabhas."
The tweet also mentioned Lee's recent travel to India and confirmed that the visit was for work. "Recently, Ma Dong-seok has been spotted posting on Instagram and other platforms, showing himself boarding a flight to India, and it turns out it was for this film," the note read.
The Korean report also described Vanga as "one of the most controversial commercial directors in recent times," while noting the success of his films Animal and Arjun Reddy.
Meanwhile, the makers of Prabhas' upcoming film dropped a "sound story" teaser on the occasion of the actor's birthday last week. The teaser offers an intriguing glimpse into Prakash Raj's character - a strict, no-nonsense IPS officer known for his discipline and dominance. The highlight of the clip comes when Prabhas says in his intense style, "Mr. Superintendent, bachpan se meri ek buri aadat hai." To this, Prakash Raj retorts sharply, "What?" The screen then dramatically transitions to reveal the film's title, Spirit. From their exchange, it appears that Prabhas plays an IPS officer who now finds himself in prison.
The video doesn't feature any visuals but unfolds as a voice-driven narrative with text, much like the announcement for Vanga's previous film Animal. Sharing the video, Vanga wrote, "Happy Birthday Prabhas anna. Presenting a âSOUND-STORY' in five Indian languages straight from the heart, for every fan who's felt his."
