Rajisha Vijayan
Malayalam film actress Rajisha Vijayan will next be seen in Tamil filmmaker Mari Selvaraj's Bison. The social sports drama also stars Dhruv Vikram and Anupama Parameswaran in the lead. At a pre-release event for the film, Rajisha opened up about her near-death experience while shooting for the film. She also recalled how the director's timely intervention saved her life.
Participating in a grand pre-release event of the film, Rajisha broke down on stage and shed tears of joy. She said, "When Mari sir approached me for this project, he sounded doubtful if I would do it as it was a sister's role. I told him be it any role, I just wanted to work with him. I have done 30 films but the trust I have in him is something special. I have blind trust in Mari sir. "
The actress then went on to reveal an on-set incident that made her thankful towards Mari Selvaraj even more. "When working on this film, there was a scene for which I had to jump into the water. Mari sir asked me if I knew swimming as I had learnt swimming for Karnan and I said 'yes' because I wanted to do the scene. However, I had forgotten swimming as it was four years ago. When I jumped into the water, I felt I was going down. For five seconds, I thought my end was near. I had several things flashing in my mind in those five seconds. I felt people saving me. When I got a grip on myself and looked around, I saw a man in the water with his cooling glasses on. It was director Mari Sir. He had not removed his shoes, socks and even coolers but had jumped in just like that to save me," the actress said with gratitude.
Sources close to the unit of the film say that Bison will be an electrifying sports drama. Dhruv Vikram plays a kabaddi player in the film, alongside Anupama Parameswaran. Sources also say that the film is inspired by true events and brings to life a gripping tale of passion, resilience, and triumph against all odds. Packed with raw energy and Mari Selvaraj's signature storytelling, Bison, they say, will be a landmark Tamil film that will leave audiences inspired and exhilarated.
The film's lead actor, Dhruv Vikram, who has had to make a herculean effort to play the role, had posted an emotional post on Instagram about working on this film when the shooting for this film was wrapped up.
He wrote, "After years of preparation, several months of filming, shedding blood, sweat and tears, it's finally a wrap on 'BISON'. The process of shooting and prepping for this film has changed my life. Thank you mariselvaraj84 Sir for fortifying my soul and giving me an experience of a lifetime."
Bison, short for 'Bison Kaalamaadan', has cinematography by Ezhil Arasu K. The film has editing by Sakthi Thiru and is jointly produced by Sameer Nair, Deepak Saigal, director Pa Ranjith and Aditi Anand.
