Watch: Yash reveals reason for not attending the funeral of fan who died by suicide despite his last wish

While Yash gears up for the release of his upcoming film, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grow-ups, his fans are counting the days until the release. Long before Yash became a pan-India name, he has been building a strong and loyal fanbase with his films, and his humility. As much as his fans love him, Yash's admiration and bond with his fans are equally noteworthy. During a recent appearance, Yash opened up about some of his fan incidents while explaining his bond with his fans.

Yash on not attending fan's funeral

One such incident was in 2021, when a 25-year-old fan died by suicide. After his death, a note was allegedly discovered in which the fan described his life as a failure and also shared his final wish. His last wish was that Siddaramaiah (former CM of Karnataka) and Yash attend his funeral. Although Siddaramaiah attended the funeral, Yash was missing.

During his recent appearance on Aap Ki Adalat, Yash was asked about the incident. Yash acknowledged the fact that he did not attend the funeral on purpose, saying, "Mujhe laga agar main yeh karunga na sir toh bahot saare logon ko yeh lag sakta hai ki aisa karne se aajayenge. Woh mindset hi wrong hai na. Uske marne ke baad, main uske funeral pe jake kya milega? If I encourage that? I don't know but that is my thought process (I felt that if I did that, a lot of people might think that doing something like this would get them the same kind of attention. That mindset is wrong. After his death, what would I achieve by going to his funeral)?"

"I am sad, I felt bad but agaar main jaake woh karunga toh aur bahot sare log kar sakte hai (I was sad and I felt bad, but if I go and do that, many others might follow suit. I don't think that is right)," Yash further added.

The KGF actor said, "If someone says, 'Let me achieve something and tak Yash aaye, mai karke dikhaunga.' Main jaunga. Koi bhi zindagi mein kuch achieve karke bolega, toh if I can, I will go. But, yeh cheez ke liye encourage karna, galat precedent set hoga laga (If someone tells me, ‘Let me achieve something in life and then call Yash, I'll prove it,' I will definitely go. If someone achieves something in life and invites me, I will go if I can. But encouraging this kind of thing would, I feel, set the wrong precedent)."

Yash recalls taking individual photos with 700 fans

Yash was also asked about the incident wherein he clicked individual pictures with over 700 fans at an event. The incident happened in December 2022, when he attended an event in Bengaluru and took photographs with each fan instead of a single group picture.

Confirming the incident on Aap Ki Adalat, Yash explained, "Whenever I am in the mindset, I give completely. For them, it becomes a lifetime memory. I have stood from morning to evening and given photographs to fans all day."

During the appearance, Yash also addressed his box office clash with Shah Rukh Khan's Zero in 2018.
