Superstar Amitabh Bachchan has become synonymous with the popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati, which gives common people a chance to win big money by using their intelligence. The game show came into being in 2000 with Bachchan as the host. Barring one season, he has hosted every edition of the show. However, word has it that Bachchan is planning to quit KBC.
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, sources have confirmed that Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is in advanced talks to replace Amitabh Bachchan as the host of Kaun Banega Crorepati.
"Salman Khan is the king of the small screen, and the best face to replace Amitabh Bachchan is him, as he also has a strong connection with the audience in smaller centers. Earlier, Shah Rukh Khan also hosted KBC, and if everything goes well, Salman will be the next to take television by storm," the source told the portal.

The makers of the quiz show are currently discussing the financial terms with Salman Khan, after which a formal announcement can be expected. The source added that Bachchan will be stepping back from KBC due to personal reasons.
Meanwhile, Salman Khan is no stranger to hosting game shows or reality TV. He has been the long-time host of the popular reality show Bigg Boss, year after year. Before Bigg Boss, he also hosted the quiz-based show Dus Ka Dum, which featured a mix of celebrities and common people.
After wrapping season 16 of the quiz show, Bachchan had shared an update on the upcoming season in March this year.
"Work is the reliever of one's destiny .. and the next season preparations have begun in real earnest for the SHOW .. so the initial step be the promo to invite for registrations (sic)," the icon wrote on his blog.
In the same month, he confirmed that he will return as the host for the upcoming season of the popular game show, 'Kaun Banega Crorepati'.
In his final goodbye for season 16 he said said in Hindi, "As I bid farewell, I just want to say that if our efforts have even slightly touched someone's life or if the words spoken here have ignited hope in any way, then I will consider our 25-year-long journey truly successful. So, ladies and gentlemen, I will see you in the next season. Keep believing in your hard work, keep your dreams alive. Don't stop, don't bow down. You are valuable just the way you are, dear to me, and my own. Until we meet again, this is Amitabh Bachchan, signing off from this season with my final words - Shubh Ratri."
