Sudha Chandran
Sudha Chandran recently grabbed headlines after a video of hers appearing spiritually overwhelmed during a jagran went viral online. After the video surfaced, she found herself subjected to intense scrutiny and trolling on the internet. Now, Sudha has addressed the backlash stating that she owes no explanations for her spiritual experience.
During a recent conversation on Zoom, Sudha opened up about the online reactions towards the viral clips, wherein many users questioned the authenticity of her emotional state during the religious gathering. According to Sudha, several users labelled the video and her reaction as exaggerated or staged.
Responding to the criticism, the Naagin actress said, "I am not here to justify. I have my perception towards life. I have certain connections that I respect. Mujhe logon se koi lena dena nahi hai. Joh troll karte hai, acchi baat hai, khush rahe apne zindagi mein (I don't care about those people. The ones who are trolling, good for them. Be happy). What about those millions of people who could connect and resonate with it? Mere liye woh important hai (For me, that is important)."
The actor further highlighted that she does not feel accountable to online trolls or unsolicited opinions on the internet. She further described herself as a self-made woman, and said that she intends to continue living her life with self-respect, dignity, and faith in the divine despite people's opinions.
The actress also recalled past judgments she has faced, adding, "In my life, I have never thought about log kya bolenge. Even after my accident, logon ne kaha tha ki kya bewakoofi kar rahi ho tum (Even after my accident, people said I was being foolish for the activities I did). Lekin jab wahi ek success story ban jata hai, log usi ke baare mein charcha karte hai (But once it becomes a success story, people only talk about it)."
The controversy sparked after multiple videos from the spiritual gathering surfaced on social media. The clips showed Sudha in an alleged trance-like state, visibly overwhelmed during the devotional event. The other attendees were seen trying to restrain her as she moved around the hall. Some moments also showed her biting those who tried to stop her.
In the viral videos, Sudha was dressed in a saree and sporting a headband that read "Jai Mata Di." She appeared emotionally overcome, jumping and moving uncontrollably, lost in the spiritual moment as the bhajans played in the background.
