Prime Video has announced the premiere date for the second season of its Hindi Original series Dupahiya. Set in the fictional village of Dhadakpur, the comedy-drama will return with another round of small-town chaos, new challenges and unexpected problems. Dupahiya season 2 will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on October 1, 2026.
Directed by Sonam Nair, the series is created and produced by Salona Bains Joshi and Shubh Shivdasani under the banner of Bombay Film Cartel LLP. Avinash Dwivedi and Chirag Garg have created and written the series.
The second season brings back its ensemble cast, including Gajraj Rao, Renuka Shahane, Sparsh Shrivastava, Bhuvan Arora, Shivani Raghuvanshi and Yashpal Sharma. Joining the cast this season is Bhojpuri actor and singer Dinesh Lal Yadav, popularly known as Nirahua.
Set in Dhadakpur, the series follows the lives of its eccentric residents as their everyday ambitions and problems often spiral into unexpected situations. While the first season introduced viewers to the village's quirky characters and its blend of innocence and madness, the upcoming season promises newer challenges and bigger stakes.
The makers have described the show as a story about big dreams colliding with everyday chaos, with humour emerging from the situations its characters find themselves in. The new season will continue to balance its comedic elements with emotional and heartwarming moments.
Speaking about the return of the series, Nikhil Madhok said the response to the first season showed the connection audiences had formed with its characters. He credited the creators and writers for building the world of Dhadakpur and said the new season would bring back the characters for more chaos, challenges and unexpected twists.
Creators and executive producers Salona Bains Joshi and Shubh Shivdasani also said that Dupahiya remains a story close to their hearts. They noted that while the narrative is rooted in rural India, its central theme revolves around everyday chaos, big dreams and the unexpected humour found in both.
With Bhojpuri star Nirahua joining the cast, the series is going to be pure fun and chaos. Dupahiya season 2 will premiere on Prime Video across India and more than 240 countries and territories worldwide on October 1, 2026.
