Prime Video has unveiled the trailer of Dupahiya season 2, bringing audiences back to the quirky village of Dhadakpur for another round of crime, comedy and chaos. Directed by Sonam Nair, the second season continues the story from where the first instalment left off and brings back its ensemble cast, with Dinesh Lal Yadav, popularly known as Nirahua, joining the show.
Set in the once crime-free village, the new season promises a fresh set of problems for its residents. Gajraj Rao, Renuka Shahane, Sparsh Shrivastava, Bhuvan Arora, Shivani Raghuvanshi and Yashpal Sharma reprise their respective roles in the series, which is created and written by Avinash Dwivedi and Chirag Garg.
The trailer introduces a new source of chaos in Dhadakpur after a mobile tower comes up on Banwari's barren land. What should seemingly be an ordinary development soon turns into a source of rumours, superstition and confusion among the villagers.
Meanwhile, Roshni finds herself dealing with another important challenge as she prepares for her SSC examination, with Amavas by her side. As the characters attempt to navigate their individual problems, the village once again finds itself caught up in a string of unpredictable situations.
Gajraj Rao, who returns as Banwari Jha, said the new season retains the warmth and humour that audiences connected with previously while bringing "more chaos" and surprises. Renuka Shahane, meanwhile, described the series as one that finds comedy in ordinary situations while keeping its characters grounded.
For Bhuvan Arora, returning as Amavas meant revisiting a character and world he finds particularly endearing. The actor said the second season retains the eccentricity and humour of the first, while allowing Amavas to grow and explore a different side of himself.
Shivani Raghuvanshi is also back as Roshni, a character she describes as carefree, impulsive and prone to dragging those around her into trouble. She said discovering more layers to Roshni made the new season an exciting experience.
Sparsh Shrivastava, who plays Bhugol, added that the new season allowed him to explore the character's contradictions and unpredictable side further.
Dupahiya season 2 is produced by Salona Bains Joshi and Shubh Shivdasani under Bombay Film Cartel LLP. The series will premiere on Prime Video on October 1, 2026, and will be available in India and more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
