Divyenndu
Embracing a character with emotional baggage and a strained relationship with his father in Glory was taxing for Divyenndu (Dark and in distress, April 25). Harder even was the decision to let go of or stay in the character between shots. "Between the takes, it's up to each and every actor [how they want to process the role]," said Divyenndu, as he recalled shooting for creator Karan Anshuman's boxing drama.
According to the actor, it's difficult to shed a character as soon as the arc lights are switched off. "It's subjective. Are you a switch-on-switch-off actor? You [end the scene] when the director says cut. But if it's a scene filled with rage, the chemical reaction is still there in the body. It's still boiling inside. I used to do breathing exercises to calm myself down. Then I had to switch on again," he recounted.
As hard as he worked on the Netflix series, Divyenndu received equal participation from his co-actor Pulkit Samrat. He elaborated, "Pulkit is a very good listener and observer. He doesn't pretend to listen to you; he is actually doing it."
