Hansal Mehta's Scam 2010 first look unveiled, series to release in January 2027

Sony LIV has unveiled the first look of Scam 2010, the next chapter of the unanimously loved Scam franchise! Season 3 is being directed by Hansal Mehta, who gave audiences one of the most loved shows in the history of the Indian streaming landscape. Set to release in January 2027, the show stars Siddharth Bodke as a business tycoon.

Set to premiere in January 2027, Scam 2010 stars Siddharth Bodke in the lead. He says, "Playing Subrata Roy in Scam 2010 has honestly been one of the most challenging and special experiences of my career. What interested me the most was understanding the man behind the image. We all know the larger-than-life personality, but I wanted to explore who he really was, what drove him, and why he made the choices he did. I've lived with this character for a long time, and the process has taught me so much, not just as an actor but also as a person. Working with Hansal sir has been an incredible learning experience and a lot of fun! The Scam series already has such a strong legacy, and being trusted to take that forward is a huge responsibility. I'm genuinely excited for people to finally see what we've created."

The new instalment is inspired by the Sahara scam. Based on Tamal Bandyopadhyay's Sahara: The Untold Story, the series chronicles Subrata Roy's rise, the Sahara India Pariwar empire, financial controversies, arrest and eventual downfall. It traces the rise of a businessman who built a sprawling financial empire through small savings schemes before coming under intense public scrutiny. The series will delve into his ambition, influence, power, rise and eventual downfall. The show is backed by Birla Studios & Applause Entertainment.

About the Scam franchise

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta's Scam franchise began with Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, which chronicled the rise and fall of stockbroker Harshad Mehta. Starring Pratik Gandhi in the lead, the series received widespread appreciation and became one of India's most talked-about OTT shows. Following its success, Mehta expanded the franchise with Scam 2003: The Telgi Story, which explored the stamp paper scam masterminded by Abdul Karim Telgi. Now, with Scam 2010, the filmmaker returns to the franchise to explore the life and controversies surrounding businessman Subrata Roy.
