Shreya Kalra has hit back at Karan Patel over his remarks about content creators during his stint on Rise and Fall 2. The influencer called out the actor for allegedly looking down on reality TV contestants despite being part of a reality show himself. She also stressed that creators have careers and lives beyond reality television.
On Instagram Stories, Shreya penned a long note. "You were demeaning us by saying that people do these kinds of things on reality shows just to get footage. And ironically, his show is now trending #1," she wrote.
Highlighting the irony, Shreya pointed out that people who make such remarks are also participating in reality shows. "And just because we've participated in a reality show doesn't mean that's the only thing we do or the only platform we survive on. We have careers, projects, businesses and lives beyond reality television. So maybe start respecting everyone's profession if you expect people to respect yours," she stated.
Shreya further said, "And honestly, stop demeaning people just because they come from reality TV. You are a part of a reality show too. So what exactly are you trying to prove by putting down the very platform you're a part of?"
Shreya clarified, "There is nothing wrong with being a reality TV contestant. What's wrong is looking down on someone else's work to make yourself feel superior."
During family week, Shreya Kalra visited the show to support her boyfriend, Rishabh Jaiswal. As Shreya told her boyfriend that his comments were going viral on social media, Karan remarked, "Kab tak reels mein rahoge? Kabhi real life mein bhi aao."
Apart from Karan Patel, Swara Bhasker also took a dig at creators when Shreya called out her diplomacy. "Shreya, respectfully, I am who I am. My world is not the world of reality shows. I am actually not interested in building a career through these kinds of shows," Swara told her.
After Shreya walked away, the actor expressed her frustration over the advice. "I have ruined my career by taking a stand for things that matter instead of endorsing every Tom, Dick and Harry who pays you money. Please, I do not need lectures from content creators or reality stars," Swara said.
