Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms is all set to bring its reality format Lock Upp to Netflix. The collaboration between Ekta Kapoor and Netflix marks a significant moment for both entertainment powerhouses to deliver a high-impact unscripted version of the controversial reality show.

Created by Ekta Kapoor, Lock Upp became a breakout reality sensation best known for its daring format, raw emotional confrontations, and intense survival-driven gameplay. The show is now set to launch on Netflix with a bigger scale, sharper twists, and a reimagined season.

The announcement was made as part of Netflix's global content slate reveal. Ekta Kapoor, Joint MD, Balaji Telefilms, shared her excitement about the partnership, saying, "As creators, it's important to build narratives that challenge both audiences and us. Lock Upp is designed to do exactly that; provoke thought, spark conversation, and reflect reality without filters. The first season of Lock Upp premiered on February 27, 2022. The grand finale took place on May 7, 2022, wherein Munawar Faruqui emerged victorious, followed by Payal Rohatgi, who secured the title of first runner-up. Munawar won the Lock Upp trophy, along with Rs 20 lakh cash prize, a car and an all-expenses-paid trip to Italy as part of his winnings.
