Lock Upp has been making headlines ever since it premiered on June 27. Just when the contestants thought they were settling in, the makers are all set to spice things up and shake up the prison. Lock Upp is inching closer to the very first termination of the season, and the contestants certainly need to buckle up as it's not going to be easy.
Kangana Ranaut is all set to step into Lock Upp as the Janta Ki Awaaz during the upcoming weekend episode. The Janta Ki Awaaz is a segment where the inmates will get closer to the audience in their journey to redemption. Whether Kangana comes bearing good news or bad, or if she will play a role in the termination of the inmates, remains to be seen.
Talking of her appearance, Kangana Ranaut shares, "This show has always been about owning your truth, no matter how uncomfortable it is. Joining Farah and Riteish as the jury or the Janta Ki Awaaz this weekend for Lock Upp: Sach ya Sazaa's very first termination, all I can say is every choice has a price!"
Earlier, while speaking at a media interaction ahead of the show's premiere, producer Ektaa Kapoor clarified Kangana's absence from the show. She stated it was not due to any disagreement or fallout. Instead, Ektaa explained that scheduling conflicts had a major role in the decision.
According to Ektaa, Kangana is currently occupied with multiple professional commitments, which have made it difficult for her to dedicate the required time to the reality show. Meanwhile, Ektaa emphasised that Kangana remains an important part of the Lock Upp journey while crediting the Emergency actress for helping establish the show's identity during its first season.
She shared that Kangana brought a distinct energy and fearless attitude to the show that resonated with viewers and contributed significantly to its popularity. However, as the new season takes a different creative direction and moves to a larger streaming platform, the makers believed it was the right time to introduce fresh hosts. Ektaa further expressed confidence in Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh, the new hosts, describing them as entertainers who understand the pulse of reality television.
