Parineeti Chopra is set to make her series debut with Netflix's upcoming mystery thriller Shaque: Trust No One. The recently released trailer offers a glimpse into the emotionally charged world of a mother who refuses to give up on her missing child, even as her search begins to uncover disturbing secrets.

Parineeti Chopra debuts in OTT with Shaque

Created by Rensil D'Silva and Siddharth P Malhotra, and directed by D'Silva, the series revolves around a mother who has spent nine years searching for her missing child. What begins as a desperate attempt to find answers soon turns into a complicated investigation, forcing her to question the people closest to her.

The trailer establishes an atmosphere of suspicion, with every character appearing to have something to hide. As Parineeti's character gets closer to the truth, her determination is tested by revelations that challenge everything she thought she knew about the disappearance. The series explores the fragile line between trust and suspicion, while also delving into themes of motherhood, instinct, resilience and obsession. The mystery appears to unfold through several relationships, with the central question being whether the people the protagonist trusts can actually be relied upon.

The official synopsis describes the story as a mother's relentless search for her missing child, with the investigation eventually uncovering secrets around her and testing her ability to trust what she sees. However, the premise hints at the similar plotline as Gandhari which had Taaspsee Pannu playing a mother. Just that Taapsee's character was temporarily blind while Parineeti here has been time and again proven to be suffering from halucination and .

All about the series

For Parineeti, Shaque: Trust No One marks her first series outing. The actor was last seen in Imtiaz Ali's Amar Singh Chamkila (2024), alongside Diljit Dosanjh. With the new thriller, she takes on a dramatically different role, playing a woman driven by an unwavering determination to find her child.

The series boasts an ensemble cast featuring Jennifer Winget, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Soni Razdan, Anup Soni, Harleen Sethi, Sumeet Vyas and Dhruv Chowdhary. The actors inhabit a world where relationships are layered with secrets and every revelation has the potential to change the course of the investigation.

Speaking about the series, creator and co-producer Siddharth P Malhotra described it as a thriller with an emotional core, unexpected twists and complex relationships. Director Rensil D'Silva, meanwhile, said the story is built around uncertainty, with every revelation raising another question. Backed by Alchemy Films, Shaque: Trust No One will premiere on Netflix on September 24. As the title suggests, the series asks viewers to question every character and every revelation as Parineeti's character continues her relentless search for the truth.
