Karan Johar calls out Mallika Sherawat over her remark on Rhea’s jail term

Mallika Sherawat found herself at the centre of a heated exchange on The Traitors India 2 after Munawar Faruqui questioned her gameplay and accused her of putting on a "fake" persona. Mallika hit back at his remarks, while Karan Johar also called out her comments about Rhea Chakraborty.

Mallika Sherawat slams Munawar

Karan Johar quizzed Munawar about saying that Mallika was playing dumb on the show. Munawar noted that Mallika had accepted that she was putting on a "fake" persona for the show. To this, Mallika gave him a fitting reply and said, "You have done a PhD on me." Munawar joked that he is not educated enough.

Mallika said, "Earlier, during Circle of Shaq, Munawar couldn't handle my calm nervous system. I had no idea that being calm was also a crime in this game. I was told, ‘It seems like you are on drugs,' which really hurt me. It was a very misogynistic comment. You can comment on my gameplay."

She added, "You have every right to doubt me. But to say that I am on drugs, and if you cannot understand my calm nervous system, then being calm has become a crime. ‘This is your comeback.' This game is not about a comeback. That's not the spirit of this game."

KJo calls out Mallika

Karan pointed out that Mallika had made a similar comment about Rhea Chakraborty. Mallika responded, "Abhi internet se main kyun argue karu? Maine toh viral nahi kiya, internet ne kiya." Karan called her comment "below the belt" and said, "Struggling inside, what she has gone through, as opposed to anybody else's struggles here, I have to say, is very different… What happened with her at a very tough time is not something that anyone humane would talk about." Mallika revealed she had later apologised to Rhea.

In one of the episodes, Mallika is seen seemingly referring to Rhea's time in jail. Rhea appears to defend a contestant after his remarks on Mallika's "comeback". She goes on to draw a comparison with Rhea's own past, saying, "Oh, this is your comeback? Who is he to comment on that, Rhea? Is this game about comebacks? I would also say, ‘Oh Rhea, you were in jail. This is a big comeback for you?'"
