Lock Upp's fresh season launches on Netflix, with the press conference the makers unveiled 3 major names that are set to get locked in the jail. Ram Kapoor was the first one to be announced as the inmate. While interacting with the press, the actor got candid about what made him say yes to the show and also addressed the former controversies that happened in 2025.
Ram Kapoor joined the stage with jailers Riteish Deshmukh and Farah Khan. Farah asked him what was the reason behind taking up the show, to which Ram said, "As they said own your truth, so here it is. I had never thought I would do such a show. In fact, yesterday was Father's Day and my kids asked me whether I was actually doing this show. For the first time they questioned me, they were worried There is no specific reason, but sometimes universe gives you signs. I got four such signs that I had to do this show. The casting director for this show, she has never approached me for anything like this but this time she was determined. They shocked me, this was exactly what I was looking for. The second sign was owning your truth and third was despite the massive population of this country, it is Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh hosting the show. I must tell you this fun trivia, Farah, Sajid and I are chuddy buddies, while when it comes to Riteish, I have seen him in an interesting situation."
He further addressed the feud between Ektaa and him and said, "While the fourth and the most important sign was that despite whatever happened last year between Ektaa Kapoor and me. One thing is for sure, that in 15 years, everytime Ektaa and I have worked together we have created magic. How can I say no when the universe is telling me to do it. I must say, I am scared of Farah and Riteish as jailers."
Ektaa Kapoor and Ram Kapoor finally bury their feud and hug it out on stage. Ektaa then shares, "I have been waiting for long time, I have been wanting to send him in the Lock Upp. Yeh humein bade hi acche lagte the." Soon after, other two inmates Pamela Serena and Shivangi Joshi were introduced on the stage.
The host further asked them whether the inmates have met each other before to which Ram Kapoor joked, 'I don't know them at all.' Ektaa told Ram as she introduced Shivangi Joshi to him, "You were in Bade season 1 and she was in season 3." Ram then hugged Shivangi and revealed that now he is quite excited to see what will happen inside the house.
During the interaction with media, Ram was asked whether he would address the former controversy in the house. To which Ram replied, "I don't unnecessarily talk about other platform. Secondly, I clarified everything on one page of the newspaper."
