The gritty crime drama Undekhi returns with its much-awaited Season 4, diving deeper into a dark, emotional narrative driven by revenge, betrayal, and fractured family ties. This season shifts its focus to the intense face-off between Rinku and Papaji, setting the stage for a gripping battle within the powerful Atwal family.
In an exclusive conversation with mid-day, actor Surya Sharma, who essays the role of Rinku, opened up about the evolving storyline and his character's motivations. Reflecting on the new season, he said, "So this season, the revenge is, you know, you must have seen season 3 and the ending is there. And there is a rift going on between Papaji and Rinku. And this whole season is about Rinku taking revenge from Papaji because as per the story, Rinku knows that Papaji has killed her mother, even though Papaji tried his best to convince her, but still he feels that no."
He further elaborated on the emotional weight driving Rinku's actions, adding, "On top of that, he was also accused of killing Muskaan, who was my wife and was to be a child. And seeing all that, Rinku gave up and he is like, now I will take a revenge." The layered conflict makes the narrative more compelling, as personal grief and suspicion fuel a dangerous path forward.
Talking about the dynamics between the characters, Surya shared, "And keeping that in mind, the kind of nature Papaji has and the kind of nature Rinku has, it's very interesting to see, you know, crack minded people or gangster taking revenge from each other." He emphasized how the story isn't just about individual vendettas but also about the chaos within a large, dysfunctional family.
"Even they are so much involved emotionally and in a family, in everyone's family, there is a drama going on, but this Atwal family is a big family and the world of Atwals is so big. In that whole family, how are we taking revenge from each other, so this is all about it," he explained. Describing the plot further, Surya added, "It's like a triangle, you know, not a love story triangle, but a revenge triangle. I want to take revenge from Papaji, he wants to take revenge from Mahinder."
Beyond the show, Surya also spoke candidly about actors exploring ventures outside the entertainment industry. He said, "I feel it's important to have a different venture or a business apart from this only if you're established in the industry because otherwise if you're starting a business or starting something it takes time and it takes the same effort as in any other field."
Highlighting the practical realities of life in Mumbai, he added, "But it is important. Why? Because at some point you feel like taking a break. But living in Mumbai it's expensive and then if you have a family then you have to keep it rolling and keep earning money. So it's a good idea to see different kinds of businesses and keep it going."
With high-stakes drama, emotional complexity, and intense rivalries, Undekhi Season 4 promises to keep audiences hooked as the Atwal family's internal war unfolds.
