The Great Indian Kapil Show 5: Drishyam The Conclusion cast Ajay Devgn, Jaideep Ahlawat to kickstart the new season

The Great Indian Kapil Show is returning with its fifth season, promising a fresh dose of comedy, celebrity banter and festive cheer. Titled ‘Hasi Ka Tyo-ha-ha-har', the new season will premiere on September 26 at 8 pm, with the cast of Drishyam: The Conclusion as the first guests.

Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav and Jaideep Ahlawat will join director Abhishek Pathak on Kapil Sharma's couch for the season opener. The cast is expected to open up about the much-awaited concluding chapter of one of Indian cinema's most popular thriller franchises while indulging in some light-hearted conversations.

For Jaideep, the episode also brings a special full-circle moment. The actor revealed that his association with Ajay Devgn goes back to his very first film, Aakrosh. Now, years after making his debut, Jaideep has joined the cast of the final chapter of the Drishyam franchise, which also stars Devgn.

The season premiere promises plenty of entertaining moments. Jaideep will be seen shaking a leg with Sona and Mona 2.0, the revived comic duo played by Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda. Sunil Grover, meanwhile, adds to the fun with his take on Ajay Devgn, leaving the cast and audience in splits.

Ajay also gets a moment of appreciation from Navjot Singh Sidhu, who praised the actor's trademark understated style. "Bolta nahi, par jab bolta hai jaandaar, wazandaar," Sidhu said, highlighting Devgn's ability to make an impact with his one-liners.

5th season to have a star-studded line-up

The fifth season will feature a line-up of popular names from the worlds of films, television, comedy and cricket. Among the upcoming guests are the cast of Vvan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sidharth Malhotra, Shweta Tiwari, Anup Soni and Maniesh Paul.

Comedian Zakir Khan and actor Pankaj Tripathi will also join Kapil, while cricket fans can look forward to appearances by former India cricketers Ravi Shastri and Sunil Gavaskar.

With its mix of celebrity conversations, comic sketches and musical performances, the new season aims to continue the show's festive entertainment offering. The return of familiar performers, coupled with a fresh guest line-up, is expected to keep the format's trademark humour intact.
