Rick Riordan Presents (edited and introduced by Rick Riordan)
Veda Mehta, Edubridge International School, Grant Road

This contains books recommended by the author of Percy Jackson. My favourites were the Aru Shah series, the Serwa Boateng series, and the Paola Santiago series. They all look at different mythologies, with the first one focusing on Indian myths, the second on Ghanaian fables, and the third on Latin American mythology. I have enjoyed reading these as they helped me learn about different cultures I had never heard of before, excluding the Indian myths.

Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix
Agastya Byas, Arya Vidya Mandir, Bandra East

The Harry Potter books are my favourites. I've read four already. Each makes me feel like I'm at Hogwarts, learning spells with Harry and his friends. I'm reading the fifth and can't wait to see how the story ends. I love reading it because it feels like I'm jumping into a secret world. Every page takes me somewhere new. When I open the book, it feels like the real world disappears and I get to go on my own adventure.

Gajapati Kulapati by Ashok Rajagopalan
Deepti Bansal (mother) with Kabir, Ubuntu Montessori, Tardeo

Kabir enjoys stories about animals. He loves the idea of the friendly elephant and all the friends that have been described in this book. He is also thrilled by the sound effects. We act them out while reading to him. I think his favourite part is the repetition; he likes that he can participate in the chorus because it's predictable. A similar collection he loves reading is the Elmer series - stories about Elmer, the patchwork elephant, and his friends.

Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan
Rishaan Duseja, ORCHIDS, The International School, Sion

Right now, I'm reading the second book in the series. I'm really enjoying how Percy and his friends set out on a thrilling quest filled with Greek myths, danger, and friendship. I love reading these books because they take me to new and exciting places. Sometimes, I read about animals, sometimes about magic or faraway lands. I read before going to bed because it makes me feel calm and happy.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney
Krshna Lodha, Arya Vidya Mandir, Bandra East

I'm a certified bookworm. Books make me calm. The book from the series that I'm reading now is called Partypooper. It is very funny and entertaining. It is about how a kid named Greg and his family set up his birthday party. Greg thinks about what he's going to get for his birthday. They've invited some celebrities, and there is also a VIP tent at the party. I had a lot of fun reading about Greg's adventures.

Percy Jackson and the Battle of the Labyrinth by Rick Riordan
Arianna Rawal, JBCN International School, Chembur

My favourite in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series is the fourth one. It is fun, adventurous, and shows raw teenage characters, their lives and troubles, merged with Greek mythology. The book is about demigods and a mortal girl (Rachel Elizabeth Dare), who can see through the mist that covers godly things from the mortals. Daedalus, son of Athena, creates a labyrinth. The demigods battle monsters and other creatures through the labyrinth, and help each other get to the main villain Kronos, the Greek God of time.
