But for those who cannot travel, the Sky View app might serve as a good alternative. While it is designed to replicate the view of the Milky Way on your phone, allowing you to align the stars on a clear night, it is also a learning tool.

By choosing your current location, you can learn to identify the most prominent stars, planets, clusters, learn their alignment, and directions, and even galaxies in the sky above you. Keep an eye out for the fun factoids that accompany each star.
