A former BJP MLA, Krishna Hegde has filed a complaint against the singer who accused Dhananjay Munde of raping her. He claimed that he was blackmailed and harassed by the same woman since 2010.

In a conversation with media persons, Hegde claimed that she has been "coaxing" him of having a relationship with her but he never expressed any interest.

He went on to say that, in the past, she has tried to honey-trap him and extort money from him.

"Through my sources, I found out that she is a dubious person who is setting up a honey trap. I totally avoided meeting her," Hegde told the police.

BJP leader Kirit Somaiya has come out on support of the woman, on being asked why he chose to oppose his fellow party member, Hegde said that the issue is not political for him. "Today, they have targetted him (Munde), a couple of years ago it could have been Me and tomorrow it will be someone else," he added.

Hegde revealed that he wrote a letter and demanded that the Mumbai police immediately investigate the matter.

"I will check the complaint properly. I will speak to my client first and then can comment on this," advocate Ramesh Tripathi, the woman's lawyer said.
