The bodies of two boys who were swept away by the swollen Kamwari River in Maharashtra's Thane district last week were recovered from neighbouring Palghar district, police said on Saturday.
According to officials, the victims were among three boys who were swept away by strong currents in the river in Bhiwandi on July 5 and 6, following heavy rainfall that caused the river to swell.
The bodies were found washed ashore on Friday after being carried nearly 80 kilometres downstream by floodwaters.
Police said the bodies were in a highly decomposed state when they were recovered.

The bodies have been sent to a government hospital in Palghar for post-mortem examination.
Authorities have contacted the families of the two missing boys to assist in the identification process.
Officials said an extensive search operation was launched soon after the three boys went missing.
Teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and local authorities have been involved in the rescue and search efforts, which were hampered by continuous rainfall and strong river currents.
Police said the search is continuing to trace the third boy who remains missing.
In a separate incident, two 19-year-old youths drowned in a quarry in Mumbai's Dahisar East area on Saturday morning, according to the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB).
The incident was reported to the MFB Control Room at around 10.26 am. Officials said the incident occurred at Shaikh Khadan in Ketki Pada, an area under the jurisdiction of the National Park.
According to the fire brigade, the two youths fell into a quarry with an estimated depth of 10 to 15 feet.
Fire brigade personnel carried out a rescue operation and retrieved both victims from the water before shifting them to BDBA Shatabdi Hospital.
Doctors at BDBA Shatabdi Hospital declared both victims brought dead, the Mumbai Fire Brigade said.
The deceased were identified as Piyush Gupta, 19, and Om Ankush Singh, 19.
