Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis extended greetings to citizens on the occasion of Maharashtra Day and International Workers' Day through a social media post, highlighting the state's development vision and prosperity.
CM Fadnavis, while posting a video on social media, also paid a heartfelt tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the historic Samyukta Maharashtra Movement, marking the occasion of Maharashtra Day.
While taking it to social media handle X, Fadnavis conveyed his wishes, stating, "Heartfelt greetings on Maharashtra Day and Labour Day."
Along with hailing the contributions of the leaders and martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the formation of Maharashtra, it also expresses optimism about the state's growth and future.
Fadnavis highlighted that the Samyukta Maharashtra Movement was not just a political struggle but a mass movement driven by the aspirations of millions seeking identity, unity, and self-governance. He emphasised that the courage and determination shown by the leaders still continue to inspire generations.
Fadnavis, while hailing the development of Maharashtra, said, "While there were thousands of challenges, the people of Maharashtra made sure that development must go on."
He also added, "Despite being in unfavourable conditions, Maharashtra's development has been ongoing."
CM Fadnavis also highlighted that the state government's commitment to carrying forward the vision of those who fought for Maharashtra's creation, focusing on development, inclusivity, and the welfare of its citizens.
The Chief Minister emphasised progress and prosperity, indicating that ongoing initiatives and development programmes would contribute to strengthening Maharashtra's economic and social landscape. The message reflected the government's focus on growth-oriented policies and inclusive development.
Maharashtra Day, observed annually on May 1, marks the formation of the state in 1960, following the reorganisation of states on linguistic lines. The day is celebrated across the state with official ceremonies, cultural programmes, and tributes to the contributions of workers and citizens.
Fadnavis' message comes as celebrations are held across Mumbai and other parts of the state, with flag hoisting ceremonies, parades, and public events organised to commemorate the occasion.
The tweet also resonated with the broader sentiment of pride and unity among Maharashtrians, while acknowledging the role of workers in building the state's economy.
