A 43-year-old pedestrian was crushed to death by a JCB in Mumbai's Andheri (West) area on Thursday. The Amboli Police have seized the JCB and arrested its driver.
The victim, Vijay Poojari, was a resident of Jogeshwari, and worked as a clerk at a private company.
Around 12.30 pm, when he was at Veera Desai Road, a JCB coming from the wrong side ran over him.
Locals immediately informed Mumbai Police about the incident and handed over the accused driver, 23-year-old Suraj Kumar Rawat, to them.

Speaking to mid-day.com, Senior Inspector Sadashiv Nikam from Amboli Police Station said, "We have registered an FIR (first information report) against the JCB driver, Suraj Kumar Rawat, for allegedly driving on the wrong side and causing the death of a pedestrian. The driver was using the JCB for road construction work. We are investigating further."
