The Neral-Matheran train service will resume on October 30, 2026, after its seasonal monsoon suspension, Central Railway announced on Wednesday. Two daily services will operate in each direction between Neral and Matheran, with one train featuring a Vistadome coach and another offering a first-class coach.
As a precautionary measure, train services between Neral and Matheran remain suspended during the monsoon season, from June to October. However, shuttle services between Aman Lodge and Matheran continue to operate as per schedule during this period.
With the resumption of the Neral-Matheran route, passengers can once again travel on the popular narrow-gauge railway connecting the two destinations. Central Railway has announced the timings for the Neral-Matheran mini train services and the Aman Lodge-Matheran shuttle services.

Neral to Matheran
Train 52103: Departs Neral at 8.50 am and arrives at Matheran at 11.30 am.
Train 52105: Departs Neral at 10.25 am and arrives at Matheran at 1.05 pm.
Matheran to Neral
Train 52104: Departs Matheran at 2.45 pm and arrives at Neral at 5.30 pm.
Train 52106: Departs Matheran at 4 pm and arrives at Neral at 6.40 pm.
Train numbers 52103 and 52104 will run with six coaches, comprising three second-class coaches, one Vistadome coach and two second-class-luggage vans.
Train numbers 52105 and 52106 will also have six coaches, comprising three second-class coaches, one first-class coach and two second-class-luggage vans.
The Aman Lodge-Matheran shuttle services will operate daily, with additional special services on Saturdays and Sundays.
Aman Lodge to Matheran
Train 52153: Departs Aman Lodge at 8.45 am and arrives at Matheran at 9.03 am.
Train 52155: Departs at 9.35 am and arrives at 9.53 am.
Train 52157: Departs at 12 noon and arrives at 12.18 pm.
Train 52159: Departs at 2.25 pm and arrives at 2.43 pm.
Train 52161: Departs at 3.40 pm and arrives at 3.58 pm.
Train 52163: Departs at 5.45 pm and arrives at 6.03 pm.
Additional Saturday and Sunday services
Special 1: Departs Aman Lodge at 10.30 am and arrives at Matheran at 10.48 am.
Special 3: Departs Aman Lodge at 1.35 pm and arrives at Matheran at 1.53 pm.
Matheran to Aman Lodge
Train 52154: Departs Matheran at 8.20 am and arrives at Aman Lodge at 8.38 am.
Train 52156: Departs at 9.10 am and arrives at 9.28 am.
Train 52158: Departs at 11.35 am and arrives at 11.53 am.
Train 52160: Departs at 2 pm and arrives at 2.18 pm.
Train 52162: Departs at 3.15 pm and arrives at 3.33 pm.
Train 52164: Departs at 5.20 pm and arrives at 5.38 pm.

Central Railway has appealed to passengers to take note of the train timings while planning their journeys. The resumption of Neral-Matheran services will restore the direct mini train connection after the seasonal monsoon suspension.
