For most, the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams are a test of memory and logic; for those with hearing impairments, they are a test of sheer resilience. Breaking through the barriers of silence, all six students of the Rochiram T Thadhani High School for Hearing Handicapped in Chembur have passed with flying colours, maintaining the school's 100 per cent success rate held since 2003.
Vedanti Mane topped the batch with 73.20 per cent, followed closely by Anush Shindhe (71.60 per cent), Harshada Kadam (68.40 per cent), and Sujal Tawade (66.60 per cent). Out of the six students from the Marathi medium, five secured a first-class distinction.
Vanita Dhuri, principal of Rochiram T Thadhani High School, said, with limited language capacity, hearing-handicapped students have to struggle hard. It is not just a test of their memory, but of their immense resilience and willpower. "Our students have proven that silence is not a barrier to success. With the coordinated efforts of our dedicated school team. Our teachers, including Sumati Giri Gosavi, Krutika Gandhare, and Manda Worlikar, worked tirelessly to bridge the communication gap. The unwavering guidance of our Secretary Papan Saheja and Executive Director Geeta Srivastava, and the constant support of the parents, make these results a victory of professional teamwork and students' grit. We are incredibly proud that they now dream of completing their graduation and becoming equal contributors to society."

âI was surprised and relieved. I had been quite ill during the last month of my exams and had lost my confidence a bit, but now I am very happy. I will never forget the support of my teachers; they gave me an emotional boost. I want to make everyone proud by pursuing a career and doing something significant in the Commerce field'
Harshada Kadam (68.40),
âI am absolutely thrilled and deeply satisfied with my results. While the journey was challenging, especially given the linguistic barriers we face, seeing my hard work bear fruit makes every struggle worthwhile. I am incredibly grateful to my teachers and the school staff for their constant belief in me and for providing the specialised support that helped me succeed. This achievement has given me the confidence to pursue my higher education and dream of a bright career where I can make my family and school proud'
