I live in Poonam Nagar, Jogeshwari East, and here all-night bikers can be heard riding with modified silencers, I have dialed 100 so many times but there has been no response yet. I even personally went to a chowkie to complian but no action has been taken, I am a senior citizen and completely fed up of this nuisance. Kindly help.

I would like to raise a complaint of pigeon feeding in my area and even after multiple complaints, people continue to throw grain on the footpath in the early morning and late night hours. BMC needs to start deploying marshals to deter this unhealthy practice. The feeding spot is Near Hiren Circle, opp Jain Derasar, Between Jairaj Nagar and Yogi Nagar connecting road, Borivli West.

Now that Sion bridge has restarted, can the BEST return the bus routes that were rerouted or cancelled two years ago. Can you please reintroduce some routes to Dharavi/BKC Metro stations from Rani Laxmibai Chowk so that officegoers and students are benefited the most by this. Hope the administration looks into this and relief is provided at the earliest.

This complaint concerns not only one installation, but also the excessive administrative leeway that appears to be extended to the occupation of public roads and footpaths in the name of festivities. I respect the right of every community to celebrate its festivals. However, no celebration - religious, cultural, political or otherwise - should be treated as a blanket exemption from civic rules or from the responsibility to protect other citizens' access, safety and daily lives. I request that the authorities establish whether this particular installation is authorised and compliant, rather than presume that a festive purpose is sufficient justification.

The noise created during various festivals is ear-splitting. The decibel levels of the music played by the organisers should be within permissible levels. The same should be monitored by the authorities concerned. Also, to make matters worse, it is observed that both during the day and night, there are bikers, who knowingly ride their bikes using modified silencers. There should be night patrolling by the police and such bikers should be heavily fined, for contributing to the noise pollution. Hoping for a resolution to this perennial noise issue.

The concreted 14th Road in Khar West was dug up for some civil work two weeks ago. The dug up area has been shabbily covered causing a big bump that hinders moving vehicles. The dug up concrete has also been abandoned on the side. Can someone please get this looked into at the earliest?

I am a senior citizen from Orlem, Malad West. It is near impossible to get an auto on some days. Drivers arbitrarily refuse fares. What if it is a medical emergency? I hope there is a citizen movement mobilised to solve this issue. It is getting increasingly frustrating. Are traffic cops paid to look the other way?

After Mumbaikars sent in their questions and woes to mid-day last Monday, some of the authorities concerned responded. We haven't given up on the rest. We shall continue to hold authorities accountable for the state of the city.

Response: Thane Municipal Corporation responds: A local civic official at the Thane Municipal Corporation said they would pick up the abandoned carts and other material lying there as spotted in the picture during their next encroachment drive and convey to the roads department to level up and fix the footpaths as well.

BEST responds: Officials at the BEST HQ said they had identified the problem and had deputed local inspectors and supervisors depot-wise to monitor the complaints of missing bus stops. The officials will be travelling on buses for inspection. It is also pertinent that commuters bring every such skipped stop to the notice of the authorities.
