The Central Railway, while sharing Mumbai local train updates, on Friday said that it will operate special traffic and power block for launching of steel girders at Badlapur.
An official statement said that the Central Railway's Mumbai Division will carry out a Special Traffic and Power Block from the night of November 22/23 to December 03/04, 2025 to launch 18 non-standard steel girders for the new Foot Over Bridge (FOB) at Badlapur.
The girders, each with a span of 37.2 metres, will be installed using a 350-tonne road crane between Vangani and Ambarnath on the Up and Down Main lines.
The block will be taken each night for 1 hour and 30 minutes, from 02:00 hrs to 03:30 hrs.
The Central Railway shared the details of the block-
Up Line: Vangani (including crossovers) to Ambarnath (excluding crossovers)
Down Line: Ambarnath (excluding crossovers) to Vangani (including crossovers)
Impact on train services-
Diversion of UP Mail/Express trains
The following trains will be diverted via Karjat-Panvel-Diva, with temporary halts at Panvel and Thane for passengers from Kalyan-
11020 Bhubaneshwar-CSMT Konark Express
18519 Visakhapatnam-LTT Express
Regulation of UP Mail/Express trains-
12702 Hyderabad-CSMT Hussainsagar Express will be regulated at Neral from 03:10 hrs to 03:30 hrs.
11140 Hospet-CSMT Express will be regulated at Bhivpuri Road from 03:17 hrs to 03:27 hrs.
Short termination/origination of suburban trains-
The S1 CSMT-Karjat local leaving CSMT at 00:12 hrs will be short-terminated at Ambarnath.
The S2 Karjat-CSMT local leaving Karjat at 02:30 hrs will begin from Ambarnath instead, departing at 03:10 hrs.
Central Railway has stated that these blocks are necessary for infrastructure safety and maintenance. Passengers are requested to co-operate and bear with the inconvenience.
Meanwhile, in an another statement, Central Railway said that it will operate two special suburban services in the early hours of 23 November (Saturday-Sunday midnight) to facilitate participants of the WNC Navy Half Marathon 2025 in Mumbai.
According to the statement, the specials will run on both the Main Line and Harbour Line, with halts at all stations.
Main Line - Kalyan-CSMT Special
The train will depart from Kalyan at 02.30 hrs and arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) Mumbai at 04.00 hrs.
Harbour Line - Panvel-CSMT Special
The train will leave Panvel at 02.40 hrs and reach CSMT at 04.00 hrs.
Central Railway said the services have been arranged to ensure smooth travel for runners heading to the marathon venue.
