Central Railway has announced that it will operate an overnight traffic block at Titwala from 12.45 am on September 18 to 2.15 am on September 19 for tamping work on two points on the UP North East line, according to its Mumbai local train updates.
The block, scheduled between Friday and Saturday midnight this weekend will affect suburban services between Kasara and Kalyan during the block period.
According to Central Railway, the following suburban services will be cancelled:
Two services will be short-terminated at Thane. These include the Dombivli-CSMT local departing Dombivli at 10 pm and the Kalyan-CSMT local departing Kalyan at 10.06 pm.
Central Railway said the last local for Kasara before the block on the DOWN North East line will depart CSMT at 12.08 am.
The last local for Titwala will leave CSMT at 10.50 pm.
On the UP North East line, the last local for CSMT will depart Kasara at 10 pm, while the last local for Thane will leave Asangaon at 11.08 pm.
Services will resume after the block, with the first local for Kasara departing CSMT at 4.19 am. The first local for CSMT will depart Kasara at 3.51 am, while the first Titwala-CSMT local will leave Titwala at 3.56 am.
The block is being undertaken for tamping of Point Nos. 109 and 113B at kilometres 63/43 and 63/55 on the UP North East line.
Central Railway said the work is necessary for infrastructure maintenance and passenger safety and appealed to commuters to cooperate with the railway administration.
Central Railway's Mumbai Division will operate special traffic and power blocks between Palasdhari and Khopoli for two months to carry out TSR work from September 18, an official statement said on Wednesday.
The blocks will be implemented every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, starting from the night of September 18-19 in 2026, Central Railway said in a press release issued on Wednesday.
The special traffic and power blocks will be in force from 1.30 am to 4.30 am on the specified days.
The blocks will cover the Palasdhari-Khopoli section and will continue for a period of two months.
During the block, suburban train services between Palasdhari and Khopoli will not be available.
Central Railway said the following services will be cancelled or short-terminated during the block:
- The Khopoli-Karjat local departing Khopoli at 12.30 am will remain cancelled.
- The CSMT-Khopoli local departing CSMT at 11.18 pm on Wednesday will be short-terminated at Karjat.
Railway authorities have also announced the last and first services before and after the block.
- The last local before the block for Khopoli will be the CSMT-Khopoli local departing CSMT at 10.57 pm.
- The last local before the block from Khopoli will be the Khopoli-Karjat local departing Khopoli at 11.20 pm.
- After the block, the first local for Khopoli will be the Karjat-Khopoli local departing Karjat at 5.43 am.
- The first local from Khopoli will be the Khopoli-CSMT local departing Khopoli at 4.50 am.
