A plumber died after an iron barricade installed as part of ongoing Metro construction work fell on his motorcycle on LBS Road in Vikhroli on Friday morning. According to the complaint filed by his son, the barricade had not been secured properly. The 54-year-old victim was rushed to Rajawadi Hospital, where he was declared dead at 12.35 pm.

Parksite police said they have registered a case based on the family's complaint, naming "the project director, manager, site supervisor and the company involved in the Metro work, alleging negligence."

An MMRDA official said they have initiated an inquiry as well. According to the official, the agency's preliminary assessment is that the bikers may have collided with the barricades, following which they fell.
