In view of ongoing developmental works and public events, the Thane City Traffic Police have issued important traffic control notifications for commuters in Kasarwadavali and Naupada jurisdictions.
Due to MMRDA's elevated corridor construction (Mumbai Metro Line-4) involving pillar construction and allied works in the Kasarwadavali area under Thane Municipal Corporation limits, the following restrictions have been notified:
Entry closed: All vehicles are prohibited from entering the service road near Hilcrest Society, Mulpa Baug towards the three pillars on the Kasarwadavali side.
One-way traffic: Vehicles coming from Hilcrest Society/Mulpa Baug side will be allowed only towards the service road near Shriram Society and Yechan Building.
These arrangements will help ensure smooth traffic flow and safety during the construction period. Emergency vehicles - police, fire brigade, ambulance and oxygen tankers - are, however, exempted.
To facilitate the popular "Anand Path" / "Happy Street" event, the Naupada Traffic Sub-Division has announced temporary restrictions on Sundays, May 17 and 24, from 5 am to 9.30 am:
Entry closed from Dnyaneshwar Ved Marg towards Parmarth Niketan via Tiemsi Circle.
Entry closed from Prarthana Niketan towards Tiemsi Circle via Dr Arun Kumar Ved Marg.
One-way traffic diversions will be in operation at the junctions.
Complete parking ban on both sides of the road from Tiemsi Circle to Prarthana Niketan Chowk.
These measures are being implemented to ensure public safety and smooth conduct of the community event, Thane Police said.
Both the notifications have been issued by Police Inspector (Traffic) Pankaj Shirsat under the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. Citizens have also been requested to check the official Thane Police website for detailed updates.
Motorists are requested to plan alternate routes, follow on-ground traffic personnel, and cooperate to minimise inconvenience, the police appealed.
