Of two potholes that developed in Bandra West just a few feet apart, one has been fixed within hours, while the other has gone unnoticed by authorities. Another pothole that has developed in Bandra East over the past few weeks and is getting deeper also needs urgent attention.
âMore fixing needed'
The pothole in front of Lilavati Hospital in Bandra West was about 2-3 feet wide and a few inches deep. It had gotten worse as the rains picked up in July and got fixed in record time. "The authorities came and filled it up on Wednesday, but they didn't see another pothole a few steps ahead. It is small but growing and can be dangerous. Bikers might not be able to gauge the depth, especially with water collecting here when it rains," said local stall owner Mohammad Jaan. The pothole is currently a vertical crater, which has developed in one of the seams in the concrete road. It is currently wide and deep enough for a bike wheel passing over it to get stuck.

A daily commuter
âJust the other day, I was driving and didn't notice the pothole. The good thing in this case is that the ward office has taken action soon and repaired the pothole before anyone actually got hurt'
Metal bars exposed
Along the service road on the southbound portion of the Western Express Highway near the Kalanagar signal, a pothole has developed over the weeks, exposing the metal beams that were installed during the road concreting process. It is used by commuters travelling towards Bandra East's Kalanagar, as well as Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC).

âI didn't notice the pothole till I was too close to it. Luckily I was riding slow enough to apply the brakes on time. This spot can cause accidents if not fixed'

âI have seen that authorities work on such things pretty fast. But this patch has been this way for a week now, and no one has done anything about it. I hope they act on it fast'
