NCP (SP) working president Supriya Sule on Saturday said whether the rival Nationalist Congress Party faction wanted to work with political strategist Prashant Kishor was its internal matter.

Sule also added that Kishor was her friend and he recently won a "very big battle" in the Bankipur assembly byelection in Bihar.

While talking to the media in Mumbai, Supriya Sule noted, "Prashant Kishor has been a good personal friend of mine for several years. I have closely followed his work, and I have never hidden our friendship," as cited by PTI.

Referring to Prashant Kishor, Sule said, "But he works independently in his professional capacity, and with whom he wanted to work was his decision."

"Whether the Ajit Pawar-led NCP wants to work with Prashant Kishor or not is their internal matter," Sule added.

Prashant Kishor had earlier met Sunetra Pawar and Parth Pawar

Earlier this week, Kishor met Nationalist Congress Party chief and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar and her son, MP Parth Pawar.

Sule, meanwhile, praised Kishor for his political work in Bihar, saying he won a "very big battle" in Bankipur despite facing the BJP's formidable political machine. Data showed that the BJP performed badly even in "the booth of its national president" (where Nitin Nabin is registered as a voter), she said.

The Baramati MP added, "Given this situation, we should appreciate Prashant Kishor. He is hardworking and has worked with several political parties over the years," as cited by PTI.

She also added. "If we had been in power from the local level to Delhi, and if there had been a negative result in our own booth in Katewadi in Baramati, I would have felt that something was seriously wrong with me."

Supriya Sule opposes the FCRA Bill, seeks JPC review

Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP SP) working president Supriya Sule has opposed the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, in its current form, saying foreign funding should not automatically be viewed with suspicion. She urged the Centre either to withdraw the Bill or refer it to a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) for detailed scrutiny, reported the PTI.

Sule said all political parties should get an opportunity to discuss the proposed legislation, amid reports that the Bill could be taken up for discussion and passage in Parliament next week.

Speaking to reporters in Mumbai on Saturday, Sule said her party disagreed with the Bill in its present form.

She said that if the government was unwilling to withdraw it, the legislation should be sent to a JPC so that its provisions could be discussed in detail.

"In a strong democracy, merely opposing something is not enough; we also have to sit together and discuss it," Sule said, the news agency reported.
