In a bid to ease traffic congestion and ensure smooth movement of emergency vehicles, the Mumbai Traffic Police has introduced temporary odd-even parking restrictions on seven key roads in the MIDC (Andheri East) area.
The order, issued by Pradeep Chavan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Eastern Suburbs, Traffic), will come into effect from Thursday, May 28, and remain in force till Thursday, August 27.
According to the notification, heavy double-side parking on narrow roads in the MIDC Traffic Division has been causing severe traffic bottlenecks and obstructing emergency services.

On even dates of the month (as per Gregorian calendar), vehicles can park only on the northern side of the road.
On odd dates of the month, vehicles can park only on the southern side of the road.
Parking on the opposite side on any given day will be considered a violation.
