Complaints lodged since July, initially marked as âValid Complaint', were subsequently reclassified as âInvalid' and closed. The stated reason for this change was that bollards had been erected to deter illegal activities and parking at the specified location. However, illegal parking persists just beyond the bollards, indicating a lack of effective prevention. Furthermore, a valid complaint regarding an illegal encroachment on the footpath, active since July 1, has yet to receive any action. The area in question is Maulana Azad Road, Agripada, adjacent to the Kalaapani Police Beat Chowkie.

I travel on Metro Line One (Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar) and want to put a question to MMOPL and MMRDA: Why does Mumbai's busiest Metro line still run 4-coach trains, 12 years after it opened? Anyone who rides it at rush hour knows the rest of the story: queues spilling down the staircase, platforms packed edge to wall, and crushing crowds inside through most of office hours. All other Metro lines get 6 or 8 coaches, while Metro Line One, the busiest of them, is still falling short of the ask.

Caved-in manhole cover has been promptly repaired and cleaned by the BMC following a complaint in the Dear Govt section and the intervention by municipal councilor Sailesh Fanse. The earlier condition posed a risk to pedestrians and local residents. Thanks to the swift response of the councillor and BMC on the complaint in mid-day, the manhole has now been properly restored in public interest.

The residents of Marine Drive, especially those whose buildings are on the main road, have been regularly facing the nuisance of the loud noises of cars and motorcycles (with modified silencers) racing on the road at wee hours of the night disturbing our sleep. The relevant authorities i.e. the police should firmly stop this permanently.

After Mumbaikars sent in their questions and woes to mid-day last Monday, some of the authorities concerned responded. We haven't given up on the rest. We shall continue to hold authorities accountable for the state of the city.

BMC responds: About the several issues on Pandit CR Vyas Road. Sandya Nandedkar, Deputy Municipal Commissioner, Zone 5, said, "I will send a team from the ward to ensure encroachments on footpaths are removed. As part of the pedestrian first policy, we have already selected five priority roads for action. This road will be added to list. As for posters and banners, action is ongoing and continuous but new posters replaced them immediately, hence it appears as if BMC is not taking action"

MMRDA responds: An official said, "The MMRDA conducted a site inspection on June 10. A hearing notice was issued to Powai Plaza Premises Co-operative Society on June 18, 2026. Further statutory proceedings in the matter are underway as per the prescribed procedure."
