Mumbai's second spell of pre-monsoon showers on Wednesday morning brought heavy rain to parts of the western suburbs, triggering waterlogging at known trouble spots such as the Andheri subway and stretches of the Western Express Highway, and causing traffic congestion during peak hours.
Several areas, including Versova, Andheri, Vile Parle, and Santacruz, received significant rainfall, with some locations recording more than 50 mm. The downpour comes even as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for rain and thunderstorms in Mumbai for Wednesday and Thursday.

Santacruz: 13 mm
Colaba: 0 mm
The rainfall recorded by the Santacruz observatory is considered the official figure for Mumbai.

Citizens reported slow-moving traffic and congestion during the morning hours after water accumulated at several locations. According to information from BMC, traffic to Andheri subway was diverted for 25-30 minutes on Wednesday morning, at around 7.30 am, due to water logging in the area.
