Gazebo roof of a ground-floor structure collapsed at Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) Mala Garden in Pratiksha Nagar area of Sion East in Mumbai, officials said on Wednesday, adding that five people were injured in the incident.
The injured, all senior citizens, were taken to Sion Hospital in private ambulances before the Mumbai Fire Brigade arrived, they said.
According to the the officials at Sion Hospital, the injured were identified as Dhondiram Ghopkar, 65, Ganpat Ambole, 79, Pramila Jadhav, 68, Laxmi Shitliya, 65 and Sunita More, 64.

The collapse was reported at Mala Garden, opposite T/18 Building in Pratiksha Nagar, Sion East.
The gazebo, which had a GI frame (structural support) and cement slab roof, collapsed.
The Mumbai Fire Brigade, police, 108 ambulance services and BMC ward garden staff were mobilised following the incident.
Meanwhile, seven people died, while seven others were injured after a landslide struck Mumbai's Ghatkopar area early on Wednesday following heavy rains, civic officials said.
The deceased included three children in the age group of two to 14 years.
The incident was reported at Gaushiya Chawl in Chirag Nagar, near Rathod Medical in Kurla West. The incident happened during the early hours of Wednesday.
According to the information from the Mumbai Fire Brigade, the incident was reported at around 3:48 am on Wednesday, August 12.
The landslide caused a portion of the structure to collapse onto two to three nearby rooms of the chawl.
Furthermore, the rescue operation is being carried out with the help of specialised rescue equipment. Around 50 BMC workers and NDRF personnel are currently involved in the operation.
As per the latest information received from Dr Shital Raut, CMO, Rajawadi Hospital, a total of six people have been reported brought dead.
Amid the concerning scenes in Kurla, Mumbai (BMC) Mayor Ritu Tawde and Additional Municipal Commissioner (Eastern Suburbs) Dr Avinash Dhakne also visited the landslide site to take stock of the situation and oversee the ongoing rescue operations.
Rescue teams continue to search the affected area for people who may be trapped under the debris. Further updates on the number of people rescued, injured or confirmed dead are awaited.
