A teenage girl lost her life after falling from the terrace of a seven-storey building while taking photos of the sunset. According to the police, the incident occurred on Sunday evening at the Parichay building located in Misquitta Nagar, Dahisar East.
The deceased, Jahnvi Savla, 16, was a Std X student. She was taking a walk in the building premises with her father when she decided to go to the building terrace to take pictures of the sunset. She sat on the terrace boundary wall to take a picture, but lost her balance and fell to the ground floor.
"The incident took place at 7.10 pm. The girl was living in the same building with her parents. She was their only child. They were in the building compound when Jahnvi asked her father for permission to go to the terrace to take pictures of the sunset. Minutes later, she accidentally fell and landed a few feet away from the bench where her father was seated," said Senior Inspector Ashok Honmane from Dahisar police station.
According to the police, Jahnvi's father, a clothes trader, alerted other residents of the building, and they rushed her to a nearby hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival.
