A fire broke out during the early hours of Monday, April 20, at a garment outlet in Naupada, prompting a swift response from emergency services. As per the official statement from the Disaster Management Cell of Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC), the incident was reported at around 5:40 am.
The fire occurred at âPrachi Fashion Store', situated on the ground floor of Paradise Tower Society on Gokhale Road in Thane (West), near a McDonald's outlet and adjacent to the Gavdevi Temple.
As soon as the blaze was reported, fire brigade teams rushed to the spot with two fire tenders and a rescue vehicle. Furthermore, personnel from the Disaster Management Cell, local police, and Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (Mahavitaran) were also deployed to assist in the operation. Along with the authorities, local corporator Sanjay Waghule was also present at the site.
Authorities said that intensive firefighting efforts are currently underway to bring the situation under control. As of now, no injuries or casualties have been reported.
Further details regarding the cause of the fire and the extent of damage are awaited.
Earlier on Sunday, April 18, a fire broke out in a residential flat on the 16th floor of a high-rise building in Thane West late Sunday night, prompting a swift response from emergency services.
According to the Disaster Management Cell of the Thane Municipal Corporation, the incident was reported at around 9:45 PM. The fire occurred in Ignis Building, located within the Lodha Splendora complex in Kasarvadavali along Ghodbunder Road.
Fire brigade personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene. Two fire engines, along with a rescue vehicle, were deployed to contain the blaze. Officials confirmed that firefighting operations are currently underway.
As per initial reports, no injuries have been recorded in the incident. Firefighters are continuing efforts to bring the situation under control and prevent the fire from spreading further.
Authorities are monitoring the situation closely, and further details are awaited.
Meanwhile, about 15 shops were affected in two separate fires in south Mumbai, civic officials said on Sunday.
Nobody was injured in the incidents that occurred in Mumbai Central and near Crawford Market, they said.
Ten shops were damaged after a fire broke out at a commercial structure at 11.31 pm on Saturday on D B Marg opposite a mall in Mumbai Central.
