Topiwala National Medical College and BYL Nair Charitable Hospital recently honoured Dr Ajit Desai with a Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in cardiology and contribution to his alma mater.
Dr Desai's journey began at the hospital in 1971. He excelled as a student leader, scholar, and sportsman, going on to carve a niche for himself in cardiology.
Dr Desai, 72, is also a two-time World Masters badminton silver medallist, having won his medal-winning efforts at Melbourne in 2002 and Edmonton in 2005.
